continued from: “Does it pay to have VA Healthcare and Medicare?“
In my last blog I started to tell you that it pays to have Medicare and VA Healthcare.
This blog will continue that theme. Remember I am a vet and have Medicare plus the VA.
I am suggesting that choices in healthcare can be lifesaving.
A veteran can have VA healthcare along with Medicare for no additional cost having the VA alone.
So, if you rely on the VA Healthcare why not add Medicare with zero costs.
The Medicare plan I’m thinking off could also provide you with additional prescription drug coverage,
dental and vision. Dental plans by themselves usually cost a monthly fee and cap dental at $1000 to
$2000 per year of coverage.
With some of the Medicare plans I am referring to they offer basic dental coverage for free.
This could include 2 free cleanings, x-rays and exam per year at no cost.
Some Medicare plans that a senior could have at no cost could include dental coverage up to $20,000 per year. That is not a typo.
So, one plan with dental coverage might cap dental at $2000 and another plan might cap dental at $20,000.
I’m not exaggerating. I am trying to inform and convince some veterans who use the VA Health system and currently don’t
receive dental coverage that they could have additional medical coverage and major dental coverage at
no additional cost.
When a senior or Veteran might try and look for Medicare help on their own, they are likely to miss a
great deal of information.
If they call one company, they will get only one point of view or option when
an independent broker is usually contracted with many companies and will show you options you
otherwise would not get.
More importantly, that independent broker help doesn’t cost you any money.
As a veteran I couldn’t emphasize enough that Medicare and the VA can work better together rather
than just using the VA health system.
It makes sense to check it out. What does a Veteran have to lose?
